I could best describe fishing the Amazon as a spiritual experience with a fishing pole. I always said one day I would like to fish the Amazon. I joined a friend on his trip and I was instantly hooked. It wasn't the big fish or sheer numbers of fish, it was knowing that I was in a land of awe and majesty.

The Mother Boat
The ultra-modern Motherboat is the only boat of its kind with great lines, modern furnishings and four double cabins with smoky-black windows (to view out but not in …). Each double occupancy cabin has its own private bathroom with hot and cold water showers and air conditioner.
We have a Jacuzzi, bar area, dining room, large living room and outside seating areas, and all inside areas are fully air-conditioned.
The kitchen, all staff and two generators are set in our support boat well away from our anglers and this makes for a totally comfortable and relaxing stay for our guests and a good night’s sleep!.
The food on board is delicious and beautifully presented and is a mix of Brazilian and American-style. Complimentary beer, soft drinks and bottled water on board are available 24/7.
Season
Beginning in May in this Southern area, the river water recedes quickly out of the flooded jungle . July through October is the prime time to target Peacock Bass and other species as the water levels have dropped and the fish are easier to target in the countless jungle lagoons. This is the time to target the Giant Peacock Bass. Most Catfish can also be targeted at the time.
The Fishing
(EXCLUSIVE INDIGENIOUS RESERVATION)
Fishing on the Rio Matupiri during this season low water is incredible, with topwater action for Giant Three Barred Peacock or Speckled Peacock Bass that can weigh over 28 lbs. Anglers use surface Prop baits, poppers and stick baits/Super Spooks/Jumping Minnows in the many lagoons and river system, against the fallen/submerged trees and brush, banks, off points and along the white sandy banks.
Excellent subsurface action for Peacock Bass, Arowana and Wolf Fish can also be had using minnow baits, bucktail jigs with extended tails, soft plastic glide baits and flukes, and other lures.
There are many other predators including, piranhas, Bicuda, Matrinchá, Jacunda and Shovel Nossed Catfish.
.
Fly fishing is a great way not only to target Peacock Bass, but also to search out other species with good results, like Bicuda, Sardinata, Trairão, Arowana and more. These fish will rip line off your reel at a blistering pace and stripping gloves should be worn to avoid cuts and burns.
Catfishing this area includes the Shovel Nose Cat, Redtails and Piraiba/Filhote.
Our fishing boats are 17ft skiffs with raised decks, fishing seats if needed, 25Hp engines and electric trolling motor. The boats will have an ice box filled with ice and drinks of your choice. Two anglers will share the boat with a guide. These boats are light and can be easily carried and dragged to get into landlocked lagoons and lakes.

Shane thanks again for a great time in Brazil. The group was fantastic and all of us got along with tons of interaction. Thanks for helping Kevin and I with tackle issues. I can't believe how everything worked out. It was not easy but it was my best experience ever in quality of fish and people to be around. I've never experienced so many quality fish and veraties caught. You truly came through and should be proud of how it came together. You couldn't ask for a better group to be with. Kevin and I thank you very much for including us in this great adventure!!!!!!!! Have a great year/future!
